KATHMANDU: Bhishma Raj Angdembe, parliamentary party leader of the main opposition Nepali Congress, met House of Representatives Speaker Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal at the latter’s office in Singha Durbar on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Angdembe is expected to brief the Speaker on decisions taken by the Nepali Congress parliamentary party meeting and discussions held among opposition leaders on Monday.
The party’s parliamentary meeting on Monday decided to demand a special parliamentary inquiry committee to investigate all controversial government issues, including the alleged harassment and arrest of journalists.
The Nepali Congress has also called for the House of Representatives meeting to be convened as soon as possible to pursue the demand.
