MYAGDI: A total of 4.19 kilometers of footpaths were constructed under projects operated by the Integrated Service Office Myagdi during fiscal year 2025/26. Out of 24 tourism infrastructure development projects managed by the office last year with a total allocated budget of Rs 14 million, 19 projects worth Rs 11 million were completed.

According to Office Chief Samjher Gharti Chhetri, the projects included the construction of paved and unpaved footpaths, rest stops, shelters, retaining walls, and other infrastructure in various tourist destinations.

Gharti Chhetri stated that all projects were executed through local user committees, though five projects worth Rs 3 million could not be implemented due to difficult geography, adverse weather, and other factors. The newly built infrastructure has facilitated easier movement for tourists, local residents, and trekking workers.

In Malika Rural Municipality, a 520-meter paved footpath and a three-room shelter building were constructed at the religious site of Prabhuchela in Ward 7 (Bim), alongside footpaths connecting Gaukhere to Matauka Chanaute in Ward 4 and Lamkhoriya to Dadagaon in Ward 3. In Beni Municipality, footpaths were constructed at Dhadapadhera Arota and Pakhathar in Ward 9 and Barahapakho in Ward 8, while boundary fencing was installed at Sanatan Religious Ashram in Ward 1 and Lovely Hill in Ward 2.

Additional footpaths were constructed at Gamphadhuri in Mangala-4 and along the Khiwang–Chechung trail in Dhaulagiri-4. In Raghuganga Rural Municipality, footpaths were built from Galeshwor to Bagaicha in Ward 3 and Phuldada in Wards 5 and 6, along with a rest house at Gayatri Temple in Ward 3.

In Annapurna Rural Municipality, footpath projects were completed at Narchyang Waterfall in Ward 4, Tikot to Sobandha in Ward 7, Maraka in Ward 1, Chhitre to Ghandruk Deurali in Ward 6, and Phagam–Suwa–Duwari–Matichaur in Ward 3. For current fiscal year 2026/27, the Gandaki Provincial Government has allocated a budget of Rs 18.5 million for 24 projects, and Office Engineer Suman Bogati confirmed that survey work, cost estimation, and user committee formations are currently underway.
