KANCHANPUR: In response to the devastating floods, Kanchanpur has mobilized significant financial assistance totaling over Rs 10 million for relief, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts.
This amount has been collected from various local entities, organizations, and individuals, and has been deposited into the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund.
Notable contributions include Rs 7 lakh from Shuklaphanta Municipality and Rs 8.8 million from Far-Western University, which was raised through salary contributions from faculty and staff.
Additionally, the Kanchanpur Industries and Commerce Association contributed Rs 5.25 lakh, while Little Buddha Academy donated Rs 8.25 lakh. Other local cooperatives and organizations have also made significant donations, including Udayadev Co-operative Society and Megha Co-operative, among others.
Various schools and businesses in the district have joined the effort, with contributions ranging from Rs 51,000 to Rs 1 lakh. Furthermore, Gurukul International School is organizing a religious festival to raise additional funds for flood victims, demonstrating a community-wide commitment to support those affected by the disaster.
Overall, the collective efforts from diverse sectors in Kanchanpur highlight a strong communal response to the crisis, aimed at providing essential aid to those in need.
