KATHMANDU: More than Rs 5 billion has been collected in the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund operated by the government for flood victims.
According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, financial aid for the victims through the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund and the Prime Minister’s Fund continues to grow.
The office has made full details of the funds received from home and abroad transparently public by operating the ‘Rescue Request Portal’.
According to the OPMC, Rs 5,04,46,81,369 (over Rs 5.04 billion) has been deposited across accounts in nine commercial banks under the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund as of Saturday noon.
Additionally, USD 1,808,189 has been collected in designated USD accounts at Himalayan Bank and Laxmi Sunrise Bank.
To ensure transparent utilization, proper management of assistance during this adverse situation, and protection against potential financial fraud, the government has requested donors to contribute financial assistance strictly using the official QR code and account names (Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund and Prime Minister’s Fund) released by the office.
The office added that detailed bank account information is available on the official website of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
