KATHMANDU: Lawmaker Dhurba Raj Rai of the Shram Sanskriti Party has stated that the parliament has been awaiting a response from the prime minister for a long time.
Rai raised the issue immediately after the start of the House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday.
Rai noted that his party had submitted seven specific issues to the parliament on Monday. He specifically demanded a response from the government regarding its actions following the devastating floods that occurred on Aug. 26.
Addressing the House through the Speaker, he asked, ‘I want to ask through the Speaker, when will the responsibilities that the government and the head of government need to fulfill be completed?’
Rai emphasized the need for government accountability, reiterating that the legislature expects a formal response from the prime minister regarding the administration’s handling of the disaster.
