KATHMANDU: The Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund currently holds a total balance of Rs 12.43 billion.
According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, this figure was recorded as of 9:00 a.m. today.
The office stated that Rs 9.14 billion is currently deposited across nine different banks in Nepali currency.
Additionally, the fund holds USD 21.63 million in two separate dollar accounts. When converted and combined, the total available balance in the fund stands at Rs 12.43 billion.
The fund continues to receive contributions. On Sept. 10, the fund collected an additional Rs 172.56 million and USD 274,062. The office noted that these figures reflect the ongoing accumulation of resources for disaster response.
Previously, the fund disbursed Rs 1 billion through the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority to provide relief to victims of the recent flooding in the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa.
