KATHMANDU: Financial support for victims of the Bhote Koshi floods continues to increase, with more than Rs 11 billion now available in the government’s disaster and relief funds.
According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, a combined Rs 11.05 billion is currently available in the Government of Nepal’s Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund and the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.
The government has already released Rs 1 billion from the collected funds for flood-affected areas.
The Prime Minister’s Office said Rs 8,062,515,518 is deposited in nine commercial banks, while an additional USD 19,837,695 is held in foreign currency accounts at Himalayan Bank and Laxmi Sunrise Bank.
