KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has congratulated athlete Rabindra Dhant for his win in the semi-final of Road to UFC Season-5. He is a mixed martial arts (MMA) player.
PM Shah took to social media on Friday evening to extend congratulations to athlete Dhant. He also thanked the player for informing the world about the disaster Nepal suffered.
“My heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Nepali MMA player Rabindra Dhant for his win in the ‘Road to UFC Season-5’ and entering the final. On behalf of the government of Nepal, I thank Dhant for also informing the international community about recent disaster Nepal suffered,” PM Shah maintained the social media post.
The PM reminded that Dhant’s success is a matter of pride for all Nepali sports enthusiasts and the country.
Dhant defeated New Zealand MMA fighter Kasib Murdoch at the Octagon in Shanghai, China on Friday, thereby securing a place in the final of Road to UFC Season 5
He is the first Nepali fighter in the history of mixed martial arts to achieve this success.
