KATHMANDU: The Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund received nearly Rs 230 million over the past 24 hours, bringing its total balance across all accounts to Rs 14.56 billion, according to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
The fund currently holds Rs 10.9 billion across nine domestic currency bank accounts alongside USD 23.93 million in two foreign currency accounts.
From the total pool, Rs 1 billion has already been disbursed through the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority to assist flood victims along the Bhote Koshi River.
To support displaced households, the government recently introduced monthly rental and essential expense allowances, offering Rs 15,000 per month for families of up to four members, plus an additional Rs 2,000 for each extra family member.
