BARA: Police personnel who allegedly recorded a video of the statement of a minor accused in the rape and murder of three-year-old Garima Chaudhary have come under investigation.
According to a source at the Bara District Police Office, police constable Kumar Bik has been taken into custody and is being investigated for allegedly recording and releasing the video of the minor’s statement.
Bik could face criminal action in connection with the incident, according to sources. The video went viral on social media, drawing widespread criticism. Police reportedly took Bik into custody after the criticism intensified.
Meanwhile, Nepal Police Headquarters and the Madhesh Province Police Office have also launched investigations into Bara District Police Chief SP Narendra Kunwar and DSP Min Bahadur Ghale following the incident.
