KATHMANDU: Power supply in various parts of Surkhet has been disrupted following continuous rainfall.
According to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) in Surkhet, the disruption was caused by trees falling on the Subbakuna and Ramghat 33 kV transmission lines.
NEA officials stated that repair work is currently underway, with teams working to remove the fallen trees from the affected lines. Efforts are being made to restore power in these areas as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the Lamki-Babiyachaur 33 kV line has sustained significant damage after trees fell onto the infrastructure.
The authority indicated that immediate restoration of service in this area is not feasible at this time. Technical teams are working to clear faults on the Surkhet-Babiyachaur 33 kV line to resume operations.
The 11 kV bazaar feeder is currently providing only partial service as a pole is at risk of collapsing.
NEA stated that full service will be restored once the pole is repaired. Additionally, officials are searching for faults within the Sitapaila feeder to resolve ongoing supply issues.
Reports indicate that power supply is also interrupted in several other locations due to fallen poles on 11 kV and LT lines. The authority confirmed that repair efforts are ongoing to gradually restore electricity services across all affected areas.
