BIRATNAGAR: Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, Chairman of the Maoist Center, has stated that the Constitution should not be amended in a way that reverses proportional and inclusive rights.
Speaking to the media at Biratnagar Airport on Sunday, Prachanda, a former Prime Minister, underscored his support for constitutional amendments but insisted that these changes should not undermine these fundamental rights.
He warned that any attempt to modify the Constitution by weakening the proportional and inclusive system in the National Assembly would encounter significant resistance.
Prachanda also highlighted that the Maoists’ current focus is not on forming a government but on changes that would strengthen people’s rights.
He noted that if the CPN-UML and Nepali Congress alliance continues until 2084 BS, it would help in the growth and organization of the Maoist party.
Furthermore, Prachanda criticized the existing coalition government, accusing it of being a shield for corrupt practices.
He rejected claims of intending to transform Nepal into Bangladesh but cautioned that the alliance’s arrogance could lead to a scenario similar to Bangladesh.
