KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli took the oath of office and secrecy today.
President Ram Chandra Paudel administered the oath at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas, on Monday.
Oli, who leads the CPN-UML party, was appointed Prime Minister by the President on Sunday under Article 76, Clause (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.
He assumes office with the backing of MPs from the CPN-UML and the Nepali Congress, the largest party in the House of Representatives.
Meanwhile, the list of ministers under the leadership of PM Oli has been finalized.
The Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, Janata Samajwadi Party, and Loktantrik Samajwadi Party will represent their respective partie sin the government.
The breakdown is as follows: Nepali Congress has nominated 9 ministers, UML has nominated 8, JSP has 2, and LSP has 1.
