KATHMANDU: Financial assistance continues to pour in for people affected by recent flooding on the Bhote Koshi River, with total reserves in the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund and related accounts reaching over Rs 15.5 billion.
According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Rs 11.63 billion is currently deposited across nine commercial bank accounts belonging to the disaster relief fund.
In addition, dollar accounts held at Himalayan Bank and Laxmi Sunrise Bank contain USD 25.44 million.
Combined across all accounts, total reserves stand at Rs 15.53 billion.
The government previously released Rs 1 billion from the fund to support flood-affected areas.
Officials reported that Rs 207.25 million was deposited into the fund over the past 24 hours alone.
