KATHMANDU: Traffic has resumed on the Prithvi Highway between Kathmandu and Narayangadh after the route remained closed for three days following damage caused by flooding in the Bhote Koshi River.
Authorities halted traffic along the highway from Bhadra 10 after flood-related damage disrupted the road corridor.
Following clearance and cleanup of the damaged sections, conditions improved overnight and vehicles began moving from Kathmandu along the highway this morning.
According to police, traffic is currently operating in only one direction along a one-kilometre section in Baireni Bazaar, Dhading.
Traffic is operating normally in both directions on all other sections of the highway.
