JANAKPURDHAM: Protests have broken out in Janakpurdham, Dhanusha, over the Kaptaanganj shooting incident in Sunsari. Demonstrators have been burning tires at major intersections since Thursday morning and forcing shops and markets to shut down. Tire-burning protests have been reported at Ramanand Chowk, Pidari Chowk and other parts of the city.
Clashes have also occurred between protesters and police after demonstrators entered the market area from Janakpur and nearby localities, according to local reports.
Tension remains high in the city as security personnel continue efforts to contain the unrest
