KATHMANDU: CPN co-coordinator Madhav Nepal has warned the government against displaying arrogance due to its two-thirds majority.
Speaking to journalists in Birgunj, Nepal stated that those who exhibit an obsession with power will eventually face downfall.
He claimed that the government’s public image is deteriorating, leading to growing frustration among the people.
Nepal said, ‘There is no such situation to evaluate the government yet. However, looking at it, the image is worsening.
Frustration is growing among the people regarding this government. It appears that public trust in this party is weakening.
The party and the government should consider this in time.’ He alleged that despite the high hopes the public placed in the government, it has failed to meet expectations.
He added, ‘I am not blaming anyone; I am providing suggestions to do better. They should win the hearts and trust of the people. They should consult with other parties and experts.’
Nepal emphasized that transformative forces must unite to protect the constitution, federalism, and inclusivity.
He stated that a working alliance among communist parties is necessary for the country’s prosperity and development. However, he clarified that there is no possibility of a party merger with the CPN-UML at this time.
