KATHMANDU: Rajendra Kumar Poudel has been transferred to the Ministry of Information and Communications as its new secretary. He previously served as the chief secretary of Koshi Province.
Poudel was appointed as Koshi Province chief secretary after the then chief secretary Chandrakala Poudel was transferred to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.
The post of communications secretary had remained vacant after Dr Kamal Prasad Pokharel (Sharma), who had been transferred to the position, resigned. The government has now appointed Poudel to fill the vacant post.
A few days ago, Rabilal Sharma also joined the ministry as a joint secretary. He has been assigned responsibility for the Administration and Planning Division.
The absence of both the joint secretary and secretary had previously stalled several policy decisions and some appointment processes at the ministry.
