KATHMANDU: Bodies of 165 people have been recovered so far in the areas that were affected from flood in Bhotekoshi River, Rasuwa, and Trishuli River.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), 27 bodies were recovered in Dhading, 12 in Nuwakot, two in Rasuwa, 20 in Gorkha, 26 in Nawalparasi East, nine in Tanahu, 64 in Chitwan and five in Nawalparasi West.
NDRRMA Spokesperson Shanti Mahat shared that 44 army personnel, 28 Nepal Police personnel and 13 security personnel of the Armed Police Force Nepal deputed in flood affected areas have gone missing.
Total 123 people—94 Nepalis and 29 foreign nationals were rescued by NA chopper from Timure of Rasuwa, added the Authority.
Meanwhile, Nepal Tourism Board mentioned that 113 domestic and 466 foreign tourists have gone missing from flood-hit areas.
“Thirty-five motorable bridges, 45 suspension bridges and around 40 kilometer road have been damaged by flood,” added Spokesperson Mahat.
“Activities are underway to collect details of human casualties and physical damages caused by the flood as well as search and rescue operation has been continued in affected areas,” she underlined.
