KATHMANDU: The government has appointed Hikmat Bahadur Rawal as the General Manger of the Gorkhapatra Corporation (GC).
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Thursday decided to appoint Rawal as the GM of the GC.
Sasmit Pokharel, the government spokesperson and the Minister for Education and Sports, informed after the Cabinet meeting that the government appointed Rawal the GM of the GC as per the recommendation from the Ministry of Information and Communication.
Earlier, the Communication Ministry has published names of selected 10 candidates from the 35 who had applied for the vacancy.
A resident of Kailali district, Rawal was chief of the Sudurpaschim bureau of the Avenues television and lately he was working for News 24, Galaxy TV and BBC Nepali service.
Similarly, the government appointed Dev Raj Dhungana of Morang to the post of executive director of the security printing press.
