Rescue underway as six suspected trapped in Chilime Hydropower tunnel

RASUWA: A rescue operation has been launched in Rasuwa following suspicions that six individuals are trapped inside the tunnel of the 22 MW Chilime Hydropower Project.

A team led by Chilime’s Chief Executive Officer, Babu Raja Maharjan, is currently deployed at the site for rescue efforts.

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Lawmaker Shri Ram Neupane also shared that he received information regarding the six trapped individuals.

“Information has been received that six people are trapped inside the Chilime Hydropower Project tunnel,” Lawmaker Neupane stated. “I am heading to the site to understand the situation, offer necessary suggestions on how to utilize my experience and knowledge in the rescue work, and directly participate in the rescue effort if needed.”

The 22 MW Chilime Hydropower Project suffered extensive damage due to the severe flood in the Bhote Koshi River on August 26.
