KATHMANDU: Resunga airport in Gulmi has remained non-operational for the past four months due to adverse weather conditions.
The suspension of regular flights has been attributed to consistent poor weather during morning hours.
According to Suman Thapa, station chief of Nepal Airlines at Resunga airport, flight operations have been disrupted since June 6.
He noted that flight services at the airport are typically affected for approximately three months each year during the monsoon season.
To accommodate passenger demand, Nepal Airlines has scheduled regular flights on the Resunga-Kathmandu route three days a week, specifically on Saturdays, Sundays and Thursdays.
Under the current schedule, flights are slated to depart from Kathmandu at 6:30 a.m. and from Resunga at 7:45 a.m.
The current airfare is set at Rs 10,510 for passengers traveling from Gulmi to Kathmandu, while the fare from Kathmandu to Gulmi is Rs 10,710. Station chief Thapa stated that regular flights will resume once weather conditions improve.
