KATHMANDU: The ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has announced the launch of its “Citizens, Policy, and Leadership” program starting mid-August, mandating that its cabinet ministers conduct monthly direct dialogue sessions with the public and party leadership to foster transparency, accountability, and result-oriented governance.

According to a press statement issued by RSP Joint General Secretary Asim Shah, the initiative is designed to ensure that elected leaders remain continuously connected with citizens by serving as a bridge between grassroots voices and state policymaking.

Under the mandatory scheme, RSP ministers serving in the government will visit the party’s central office at least once a month to conduct a two-part evening program.

The first hour, running from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, will be open to the general public, allowing ministers to directly listen to grievances, expectations, and feedback from ordinary citizens.

Following the public session, ministers will convene with central committee members and members of parliament to analyze the grassroot input received and formulate concrete policy strategies on contemporary national issues.

The party outlined that the initiative seeks to enhance ministerial responsiveness, streamline coordination between the government, legislature, and party organization, and ensure that national legislation and executive decisions directly reflect ground realities.
