KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Amresh Kumar Singh has urged the people of Madhesh to reject recurring protests, ethnic and religious violence, and instead unite for long-term peace and development.

In a statement posted on social media on Thursday, Singh said repeated unrest and violent incidents have pushed Madhesh further away from the path of stability and prosperity, causing damage to public infrastructure, disrupting academic activities, and crippling trade and business.

He stressed that the time has come for all communities to work together and prioritize sustainable development, focusing on education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and youth employment rather than conflict.

Singh also appealed to the public not to be influenced by anti-social elements seeking to disrupt communal harmony. He said individuals or groups that incite division and conflict—regardless of their community or background—should be regarded as opponents of Madhesh’s development.

Calling for social unity, Singh urged residents to reject those promoting violence and instead stand together in support of peace, harmony, and long-term development.
