RSP nominates nine central members, Kharel named spokesperson

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has nominated nine leaders as the central committee members.

The party’s central committee meeting held on Friday nominated Sunil Lamsal, Sudhan Gurung, Pratibha Rawal, Bhup Dev Shah, Purushottam Suprabhat Yadav, Dr Manohar Pradhan, Basumaya Tamang, Surendra Chaudhary and Dr Bhakta Bahadur Rai as the central members.

The party assigned responsibilities to various office bearers. As per the decision, Purushottam Suprabhat Yadav has been nominated as a joint general secretary, Dr Pradhan as a treasurer, Basumaya Tamang as a joint treasurer, Jagadish Kharel (Lalitpur) as a spokesperson and Dr Namita Yadav and Surendra Chaudhary as joint the spokespersons, according to general secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya.

Similarly, Ganesh Parajuli, Shisir Khanal, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, Purushottam Suprabhat Yadav, Dr Manohar Pradhan, Kabindra Burlakoti, Jagadish Kharel (Lalitpur), Lima Adhikari Acharya, Dipak Raj Bohara, Samiksha Baskota, Shiva Nepali, Indira Rana Magar and Manish Jha have been nominated as party secretariat members.

Pramod Neupane has been named chief of the Organization Department, while Shisir Khanal chief of Department of the International Relations, Bijay Jairu chief of the Department of Public Service and Public Grievance Management, Dr Toshima Karki chief of the Department of Public Health and Nisha Dangi chief of the Infrastructure Department. Lima Adhikari Acharya will head the Finance Department, and Kamal Subedi a deputy chief of the Training Department.

The RSP meeting decided to endorse the ‘Candidate Selection Framework-2083’ prepared under the coordination of general secretary Acharya for the upcoming local elections.

An 11-member committee has been formed under the coordination of general secretary Acharya to prepare a document related to the ‘Right to Recall’.

Joint general secretary Nisha Dangi will be coordinating the orientation programmes on candidate selection framework by mobilizing central committee members and members of the House of Representatives in 460 rural municipalities as part of the preparation of the local elections.

The party is for publishing a monthly digital paper called ‘Swatantra’ from next month (Asoj), Acharya added.

A five-member committee has been formed under the coordination of joint general secretary Hari Dhakal to audit the organization before conducting the district and province conventions in Madhes.
