RSP resumes district conventions, validates Kailali chapter election

A A+ A-

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has resumed its district convention process in the remaining districts, with its Central Election Commission moving forward with conventions in Sindhupalchok and Baglung while validating the party’s district convention in Kailali.

Party Chief Election Commissioner Bhuvan KC said conventions in the remaining districts of Madhesh Province will also be held gradually. These districts were unable to complete the process before the party’s first national convention due to internal disputes.

The commission has scheduled the Sindhupalchok district convention for August 7 (Shrawan 22) in Chautara, with the remaining electoral process resuming from the stage at which it was previously suspended.

In Baglung, the commission annulled the previously announced district committee, ruling that the earlier convention did not comply with party procedures. It has ordered a fresh convention, with the date, venue and election committee to be announced within the next seven days.

Meanwhile, the commission granted official recognition to the Kailali district convention held on June 8 (Jestha 24) after concluding that it had fully complied with the party’s organizational and electoral procedures. The district committee elected through that convention has also been formally recognized.
