RSP urges government to immediately shift locals of downstream areas to safer places

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has urged the government to immediately shift the locals of downstream settlements which are at the risk from Bhotekoshi flood to safer places, saying flood has caused risk at Trishuli as well as other downstream areas.

Stating that there is a risk of flood at downstream areas in Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts as well as in Chitwan, the RSP drew government’s attention to mobilize all mechanisms for disaster management as per the advice of the Flood Forecasting Division.

A press release issued by RSP General-Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya urged the bodies concerned to relocate people residing at river banks and downstream areas to safer and uphill areas, requesting to avoid movement along downstream roads except urgency until the situation normalizes.

The party also directed to call at Nepal Police’s toll free number 100 and emergency number 1234 as well as instructed all party members to actively involve to rescue the citizens at risk and preparedness task making effective coordination with local administration.
