KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has expressed serious concern over the recent sensitive and tragic incidents reported in Sunsari and other districts of eastern Nepal.
In a press statement issued on Tuesday, RSP President Rabi Lamichhane paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the incidents and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. He also wished for the speedy recovery of injured civilians and security personnel.

The statement, signed by Lamichhane, emphasized that no problem or dispute can be resolved through violence or confrontation. It called on all sides to exercise restraint in order to protect Nepal’s pluralistic culture, mutual unity, tolerance, and social harmony.

RSP urged citizens, religious and social leaders, and all stakeholders not to fall prey to rumors or provocation and to stay away from activities that could undermine communal or social harmony.
The party stated that, given the current sensitive situation, it is cooperating with the government and local administration to maintain peace and security, ensure the safety of citizens’ lives and property, and help restore normalcy.

RSP also demanded an independent, impartial, and swift investigation into the incidents, insisting that those responsible be brought to justice. The party further called on the government to provide victims with proper justice, compensation, and free medical treatment.

Reaffirming its commitment to peace, justice, and social harmony, RSP said it remains ready to play a constructive role in seeking peaceful solutions through dialogue.
Meanwhile, the party appealed to all political parties and concerned groups not to politicize the incidents under any pretext. It also instructed its local committees and party workers to contribute positively to maintaining peace and social harmony in their respective communities.
