KATHMANDU: A regular meeting of secretaries, chaired by Chief Secretary Govinda Bahadur Karki, has decided to intensify market monitoring activities targeting the upcoming festive season. The meeting, held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Monday, directed the relevant ministries to take a strict stance against black marketeering.

The decision aims to curb illicit trade practices and protect consumers during the holiday period. Furthermore, the meeting resolved to monitor the efficiency and quality of government service delivery to ensure that public services remain streamlined and accessible.

This meeting is a regular feature led by the Chief Secretary. Although typically held on a Monday of the month, this session was convened on Monday due to the Dashain holiday schedule. According to one participating secretary, the meeting also included discussions on various contemporary issues. The directive underscores a government effort to increase oversight and accountability across sectors during the festive period.
