A A+ A-

KATHMANDU: Several major highways across the country remained obstructed today due to floods and landslides. The ongoing natural disasters have severely disrupted road connectivity and transportation services in various regions.

The Prithvi Highway, along with various road sections in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading, has been closed since Aug. 26 due to flooding in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa. Access to these areas remains restricted as the blockage continues.

Furthermore, the Mugu-Gamgadhi road in Mugu is currently completely obstructed. Other major routes facing full closures today include the Sahid Highway in Rolpa, the Karnali Highway in Kalikot and Surkhet, and the Rapti Highway in Salyan. These road closures have significantly impacted local travel and the transport of essential goods.
