KATHMANDU: The Shram Sanskriti Party has called on all stakeholders to engage in dialogue and cooperation to help resolve the religious and communal tensions that have recently emerged in parts of Nepal.
In a statement issued on Friday, party chair Harka Sampang said peace is the foundation of prosperity and happiness, emphasizing that lasting social harmony can only be achieved through mutual respect and understanding.
He stressed that Nepal is a shared homeland for people of all faiths and that the religious rights of every citizen must be fully protected. According to Sampang, fostering a high level of tolerance among communities with different religious beliefs is essential to preserving national unity and social harmony.
The party said it respects all religions equally and does not view any faith as superior or inferior to another.
Referring to the recent rise in religious and communal tensions, Sampang urged the government, political parties, and civil society to work together with a constructive approach through dialogue and cooperation to restore peace and strengthen social cohesion.
He added that the Shram Sanskriti Party remains committed to supporting all positive efforts aimed at maintaining peace, stability, and public order. Sampang also appealed to the public to refrain from making statements or engaging in activities, through any medium, that could further inflame the situation.
