KATHMANDU: Six people have died in floods and landslides triggered by incessant rainfall across the country since Sept. 24.
According to police, the fatalities include 2 people in Bagmati Province, 2 in Lumbini Province, 1 in Gandaki Province, and 1 in Karnali Province.
Two individuals sustained injuries during the disasters and have been transported to local hospitals for medical treatment. Authorities have successfully rescued 407 people from affected areas.
Police are coordinating with local residents and other agencies to relocate families living in high-risk areas to safer locations.
Efforts are also underway to secure property buried by landslides in the affected districts.
