GULMI: Six local government units located in Gulmi district have together contributed a sum totaling Rs 6,300,800 to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund in order to support people affected by the Bhote Koshi flood disaster. The financial assistance was raised through collections from local elected representatives, government employees, and school teachers across the respective municipal and rural municipal jurisdictions, and subsequently deposited into the national disaster account.

According to details released regarding the donations, Ruru Kshetra Rural Municipality made the largest single contribution among the participating local units by depositing Rs 2,675,000 into the government fund. Similarly, Chandrakot Rural Municipality deposited Rs 1,400,000 to assist the flood relief operations. Resunga Municipality also joined the relief drive by contributing Rs 1,000,000 to support the disaster response for the flood victims.

Among the remaining local governments in the district, Gulmi Durbar Rural Municipality deposited Rs 500,000 into the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund account. Madane Rural Municipality contributed Rs 405,800 towards the relief sum, while Malika Rural Municipality provided a contribution of Rs 300,000. Each local body organized voluntary collections from its elected local officials, administrative personnel, and community school educators.

The collective contribution of Rs 6,300,800 from Gulmi’s six local government units has been transferred into the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. Representatives confirmed that the entire collection was made possible through the active participation of local leaders, municipal workers, and teachers wishing to extend aid to victims of the Bhote Koshi flood.

The total deposited amount aims to support emergency relief efforts managed through the central fund. Officials noted that the joint fundraising initiative across the six local units demonstrates administrative solidarity during natural disasters.
