KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has called on concerned authorities to conduct an independent and impartial investigation into media reports and social media posts involving the chief justice and other Supreme Court justices, and make the findings public as soon as possible.
A full court meeting held on Monday issued a five-point decision, expressing concern over the reports and statements circulating in the media and on social media.
The court reaffirmed its commitment to the supremacy of the Constitution, the rule of law and legal accountability. It also pledged to cooperate with investigations into the reports in accordance with the law.
The full court urged media outlets not to publish or broadcast content that could prejudice individuals or obstruct the administration of justice before the investigation is concluded.
It also called on judicial personnel across all courts to continue their judicial duties without being distracted by the reports.
