KATHMANDU: The writ petition filed by Dan Bahadur Karki at the Supreme Court demanding reinstatement after being removed from the post of Inspector General of Police (IGP) has been registered.

Aabhash Regmi, Karki’s legal representative, stated that the writ—submitted on Thursday—was registered on Friday following a review.

According to him, although the writ has been registered, a hearing date has not yet been scheduled.

On Wednesday, the government removed Karki and appointed Manoj KC as the new IGP.

Claiming that he was unlawfully removed from office, Karki filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court demanding his reinstatement.

Due to the Tihar holidays, the hearing on the writ will now take place only after Tihar.
