SIRAHA: Tension flared outside the home of 15-year-old Ganesh Yadav, who was killed by police gunfire during a protest in Golbazar, after locals surrounded security vehicles accompanying the Home Minister.

Police, Armed Police Force personnel and vehicles from the Siraha District Administration Office were encircled by protesters as Home Minister Sudan Gurung headed to meet the bereaved family.

Ganesh Yadav, a resident of Aurahi Rural Municipality-2, Tulasiyahi, was fatally shot during Thursday’s protest over the Sunsari incident. Locals are also demanding the immediate release of those detained during the demonstrations, alleging they were arrested on accusations of disturbing communal harmony while protesting for justice.
