KATHMANDU: Thousands of devotees have visited the Pashupatinath Temple to mark the occasion of Haritalika Teej. By 12 p.m. on Monday, approximately 24,000 people had offered prayers at the temple.
Dan Bahadur Thapa, spokesperson for the Kathmandu District Police Range, stated that between 2,000 and 3,000 women were observed participating in traditional singing and dancing across various locations within the Pashupati area. Meanwhile, between 2,000 and 2,500 devotees were waiting in queues at the four gates of the temple to offer their worship.
Police confirmed that no untoward incidents have been reported so far. Authorities have established comprehensive management systems for temple access, security, health services, and a lost-and-found desk to assist with the reunification of separated individuals.
Police have advised devotees to remain vigilant regarding the safety of their belongings and their companions. In the event of any difficulty, visitors are encouraged to contact the nearest police help desk. Authorities have further urged the public to celebrate the festival in a civil, safe, and organized manner.
