KATHMANDU: A large number of devotees have gathered at the Pashupatinath temple on the occasion of Haritalika Teej. All four gates of the temple were opened for worshippers at 3.15 am today to facilitate the flow of visitors.
By 7 am, more than 9,000 devotees had visited the shrine, with an additional 3,000 people waiting in line, according to security sources. To ensure safety and order, 1,250 police personnel have been deployed across the temple premises and surrounding areas.
Nepal Police is managing the site, which includes overseeing traffic flow and providing a health camp for visitors. Surveillance is being conducted through CCTV and drone monitoring, alongside the deployment of plainclothes officers. Devotees have reported that the two-shift security arrangement has made it easier for them to visit the temple throughout the day.
