Three Indian Nationals arrested at Airport with 11 kg of marijuana smuggled from Thailand

KATHMANDU: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested three Indian nationals from Tribhuvan International Airport after seizing 11 kilograms of marijuana that was smuggled into Nepal from Thailand via Hong Kong.

According to the bureau, a team deployed for profiling suspicious passengers detained two Indian nationals who arrived in Kathmandu on Cathay Pacific flight CX-603. The marijuana, weighing 11 kilograms, had been concealed inside their luggage.

A third Indian national, who had come to the airport to collect the contraband, was also taken into custody.

The arrested individuals have been identified as 30-year-old Sony and 23-year-old Jagrup Singh, both residents of Ludhiana in Punjab, India, and 22-year-old Sahil from Haryana, India.
The Narcotics Control Bureau said further investigation into the case is underway.
