KATHMANDU: Three newly appointed ministers in the Lumbini Province government took the oath of office and secrecy on Tuesday.
Province Chief Krishna Bahadur Gharti administered the oath to the newly appointed ministers.
Indrajit Tharu of Dang has been appointed Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, while Dipendra Pun ‘Sijal’ of Rolpa has been given the Health Ministry. Krishna Kumari Tharu of Bardiya has been appointed Minister for Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives.
Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya of the CPN-UML appointed the three ministers following a recommendation from the Communist Party of Nepal (NCP), which decided to join the provincial government after Acharya secured a vote of confidence in the provincial assembly on August 17.
Based on the party’s recommendation, Chief Minister Acharya appointed the three lawmakers as ministers.
