A A+ A-

MUSTANG: Following the Dashain festival, visitor engagement in the Himalayan region of Mustang has taken an upward trajectory.

Beginning this Thursday, the influx of tourists to Mustang, which had experienced minimal activity prior to Dashain, has begun to rise noticeably.

The primary thoroughfare connecting Mustang via the Beni-Jomsom route sustained complete obstruction from landslides and riverbank degradation.

Police Inspector and Information Officer of the District Police Office in Mustang, Ishwar Mahat, shared that tourist arrivals via the Beni-Jomsom corridor have demonstrated growth subsequent to Dashain festival.

During the current year’s period spanning Ghatasthapana through Vijaya Dashami, 5,663 visitors accessed Mustang utilizing the Beni-Jomsom route. This cohort comprised 3,738 male visitors and 1,925 female visitors.

According to Police Inspector Mahat, throughout the ten-day interval from Ghatasthapana to Vijaya Dashami, 4,409 international tourists, representing 77.85 percent of total arrivals, entered Mustang.
