LAMJUNG: The Besisahar-Chame road, which had been shut down for six days due to landslides, has officially reopened today.
Navin Bista, the information officer for the Dumre-Besisahar-Chame road project, informed the RSS that the road is now clear after removal of landslide debris that had piled up in Nason Rural Municipality-3 Khotro and Chame Rural Municipality-5 Koto.
Heavy rains led to landslides in several areas along the Besisahar-Chame road, causing some parts of the road to suffer from water erosion.
With the road now accessible again, transportation and distribution of food and essential goods heading to Manang have significantly improved.
