KATHMANDU: The tunnel rescue experts from neighbouring India and China have begun their jobs to rescue those trapped in tunnels in the Bhotekoshi flash flood-affected areas.
The tunnel experts arrived in Nepal today from India and China to rescue the people trapped in different hydropower projects in the affected areas.
The Indian team including 11 doctors arrived this morning in Kathmandu along with assistance materials and was deployed in the flood-hit areas.
The Chinese team travelled by helicopter from Gyirong of China’s Xizang Autonomous Region and arrived in the disaster-affected area this evening.
Earlier today, Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal said the government has mobilised all available resources and efforts at its disposal for search, rescue, relief and recovery operations, with particular attention to people who remain missing, including both Nepali and foreign nationals adding that this was currently the national priority.
