TVS launches Orbiter electric scooter in Nepal at Rs 281,900

KATHMANDU: TVS Motor Company has launched the TVS Orbiter electric scooter in the Nepali market, targeting urban commuters with a claimed IDC-certified range of up to 158 kilometers and a host of connected smart features.

According to the company, the scooter is powered by a 3.1 kWh battery and comes equipped with cruise control, hill hold assist, 34-liter under-seat storage, parking assist, and smartphone connectivity. TVS said the Orbiter is designed to offer a practical and technology-driven riding experience for daily city travel.

The company said the scooter is the first in its segment to feature a 14-inch front wheel, which is expected to provide improved stability, easier handling, and greater riding comfort. It also features an aerodynamic design, an 845 mm-long seat, a 290 mm straight-line footboard, and enough under-seat storage to accommodate two helmets.

Other features include an LED headlamp, color LCD display, USB charging port, turn-by-turn navigation, over-the-air (OTA) software updates, live location tracking, accident alerts, geofencing, theft and towing alerts, along with other connected safety functions.

Peyman Kargar, President of International Business at TVS Motor Company, said the launch of the Orbiter in Nepal reinforces the company’s commitment to expanding sustainable and smart electric mobility. He said TVS will continue to introduce innovative electric mobility solutions that meet evolving customer needs as the global shift toward cleaner transportation accelerates.

Madhuprakash Singh, Vice President of International Business, said the Orbiter was tested and developed with Nepal’s roads and terrain in mind. He said the scooter offers a balanced combination of technology, comfort, performance, and reliability for urban riders.

Sahil Agrawal, Managing Director of Jagdamba Motors, the authorized distributor of TVS in Nepal under the Shankar Group, said the successful reception of the TVS iQube has strengthened the brand’s presence in the country’s electric two-wheeler market, and expressed confidence that the Orbiter will further expand that position.

The TVS Orbiter will be available in Neon Sunburst, Cosmic Titanium, and Martian Copper color options. The company has set an introductory price of Rs 281,900.
