SYANJYA: Two people died on the spot and 17 others were injured in a road accident that took place in Galyang of Syangja district this evening.
Spokesperson of District Police Office Syangja, Ramesh Dutta Awasthi, said that 25-year-old Nisha Pachbhaiya of Galyang-8 and Yam Bahadur BK, 60, of Galyang-8 died in the mishap.
Of the 17 people injured in the accident, the health condition of Basanti Bishwakarma, 27, and Devi BK, 48, is report to be critical, according to police.
The injured have been rushed to the United Mission Hospital in Palpa. Five other injured ones returned home, while remaining are receiving treatment in Galyang Municipal Hospital.
Awasthi said that the accident took place when a passenger jeep heading to Sangliya village from Galyang Municipality-3 met with an accident at the Karadi area of the municipality.
