RASUWA: Joint search and rescue teams have safely extracted two individuals—identified as Kabir Maharjan and Sanjay Sah—alive from inside the Trishuli-3 ‘A’ Hydroelectric Project tunnel in Rasuwa, ten days after catastrophic flooding inundated the region.

The rescue operation gained momentum early Friday morning when security personnel detected human voices coming from inside the structure.

In response, a specialized joint task force comprising the Nepali Army and Armed Police Force Nepal navigated the hazardous, flooded underground conditions to reach and pull out both survivors.

Lawmaker Shri Ram Neupane, who participated directly in the operations on-site in his capacity as an engineer, praised the non-stop dedication of security personnel, technical crews, and first responders.

Neupane expressed hope that additional workers trapped inside will also be safely brought to the surface.

Having wrapped up his technical duties at the disaster site, Neupane announced plans to conduct a foot march toward Bidur to engage with local residents before returning to the capital by road.

Search operations inside the tunnel system remain actively underway.
