KATHMANDU: The United States has begun delivering emergency supplies to support people affected by the recent flooding.

U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Scott Urbom today dispatched the first shipment of emergency relief supplies to Nepal. Through Catholic Relief Services and its implementing partner, Caritas Nepal, the supplies will be delivered to two school locations in Rasuwa.

The shipment includes more than 2.5 metric tons of food supplies, 500 blankets, 500 mosquito nets and 500 insulating foam sheets for temporary shelter flooring.

The U.S. Embassy in Nepal said it is closely coordinating with the Government of Nepal, Catholic Relief Services and Caritas Nepal to prepare and deliver additional shipments based on the needs identified in the affected areas.
