KATHMANDU: UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband today made a phone call to Foreign Affairs Minister Shishir Khanal.
During their conversation, Miliband conveyed his heartfelt condolences for the tragic loss of life and property caused by the severe floods that struck on Wednesday. He emphasized that both the British government and its people stand in solidarity with Nepal during this challenging time.
Miliband also shared updates on the ongoing search and rescue operations, assuring Khanal of the UK’s strong support to help Nepal navigate through this crisis.
Additionally, he expressed concern for British citizens who had lost contact following the floods and inquired about their safety.
In response, Minister Khanal provided details on the Nepal government’s rescue efforts and expressed his appreciation for the UK’s willingness to assist Nepal in these trying circumstances.
