KATHMANDU: The Ullens Education Foundation has donated Rs 2 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. The contribution is intended to support families affected by the recent floods in Rasuwa.
A delegation led by the foundation’s founding chairperson, Som Paneru, handed over the cheque to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle. The funds were raised through a joint initiative involving the Ullens Education Foundation, Ullens School in Khumaltar and Bansbari, the parent organization ‘Action Team for Partnership’ (ATP), the board of trustees, and the school’s dedicated staff and teachers.
Foundation Chairperson Som Paneru stated that providing support during difficult times is a duty. He said, “Our personal sorrows and difficulties can wait for some time. However, the damage caused by this flood is so great that it demands an immediate and collective response from us.”
Recalling the damage previously sustained by the foundation’s own school facilities in Khumaltar, Bansbari, and Nala in Kavre, Paneru expressed the organization’s commitment to continue supporting national reconstruction efforts and fostering hope.
