KATHMANDU: The voting schedule for the 15th general convention of the Nepali Congress to elect a new central working committee has been postponed for the second time.
Initially set to begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, the process was first delayed until 1 p.m. due to preparation requirements. The election committee has now rescheduled the start time to 2 p.m.
Before finalizing the change, the election committee held discussions with candidates for the positions of president, vice-president, and general secretary.
Leader Ranjit Karna stated that a consensus was reached during the meeting to commence voting at 2 p.m.
According to the agreement, voting for the Bagmati Province will take place at the Rastriya Sabha Griha, while representatives from other provinces will cast their votes at Khulla Manch.
A total of 7,255 convention representatives are eligible to vote for the new central working committee. The election committee released the final list of candidates for office bearers and central members on Wednesday evening.
